I'm not sure where this came from (a few friends posted it on Facebook), but it is very, very cool and worth a read! It's also a handy list of people I'd love to meet and interview. I recommend making it full screen for easier reading.

Rachel... another subject... GoogleStreet View was released for Brazil... so far, only metro areas of Rio, São Paulo and BH are mapped.

Not sure what kind of criteria Rodrigo used for this. Was this done through his ad agency? If so, it explains the quality of this ranking. I hear Predicta is quite a mediocre agency.
I see two people in this list that do not belong there at all. I guess character does not play a role on this likely fraudulent list. I know these are harsh comments, but I have a personal reason for this. Anyway, it is only my opinion and for sure some may disagree (or not) given I really cannot prove the guy was paid to place some people in there (see it as "free" PR).
It will be better if they disclose the criteria used to evaluate. I still would not agree but I would respect it more.
Another thing to consider is the definition of "success". Who "made it" in NY through honest and good quality work, or just anyone who "makes it" regardless of how she/he got there?

@Roger, I do want to write about Street Views. Odd tidbit - there were two dead bodies in two of the "views," one in Rio and one in BH, that they took down.
@Simone, not sure about the criteria they used, but I did figure out they alphabetized it by first name, so it's not in order of importance or success.

Rachel: this compilation was a Vogue Brasil insert, released at the BrazilFoundation Gala to raise funds for their projects. A few months ago they asked NYers to vote on the 100 most influential Brazilians in New York in a series of categories. Here is the copy that went out:
----
BrazilFoundation is having an election to determine the 100 most influential Brazilians in New York. The Brazilians with the top 100 votes will have their photos and names listed in a special edition of Brazilian Vogue.
To vote, send an email to 100brazilians@brazilfoundation.org with up to 20 nominees by July 15th.
----
For your commenters who think that it was corrupt, I have to disagree. No list is perfect. Nor comprehensive. Yes, there are some great people who are not on it, but it was an online popular vote. Claudio made the list, so there's one vote for hard honest work.
