One-Line Bio

I'm an American college graduate living in Rio de Janeiro.

Biography

I'm Rachel, a 24-year-old American from New York that graduated from college in May 2007. I moved to Rio in June 2007, and I'm living in the cidade maravilhosa of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Though I've lived abroad in Latin America and traveled in Brazil, I'd never lived in Brazil before. I've also never lived abroad on my own and have to be responsible for every aspect of my life falling into place. After studying abroad, it has been an adventure to find my own place, buy and make my own food, find a job, and learn to become a part of Brazilian society. Lucky for me, I have a wonderful carioca boyfriend who's help me along the way. My blog details my adventures, pitfalls, and general loucura of being a gringa in Rio.
